Both the two-week and one-week intensive programs will consist of two components; a portfolio development course and the student’s chosen elective (see offerings and course descriptions below). The portfolio development class will assist students in developing a body of work, learn what to include in their portfolio, gain experience discussing their work and writing an artist statement.

Two-Week Elective Choices

June 28 through July 9, 2021

Choose one of the programs listed below:

Illustration
Explore ways to create images that communicate new ideas and convey a narrative.
Through life studies in drawing and painting, you will develop technical and artistic skills for use in the commercial art world.

Painting and Drawing
Develop skills of observation and expression working with the beautiful pigments and surfaces paint affords. This concentration course enhances students’ perceptual and aesthetic awareness through the creation of fine art, incorporating a variety of techniques, media, and subject matter.

Supplies and Materials: Students will be supplied with a Precollege Art Kit to cover both components of the one-week intensive program.
