Make a Difference in the Lives of Our Students
The Resident Assistant is a student employee of the Residence Life Office whose primary responsibility is to provide assistance, guidance and direction to the residents on each floor and in the building as a whole.
To be chosen as an RA, applicants are required to participate in a careful selection process, which takes place each spring semester for the following fall semester. RAs serve on a duty rotation in every hall, so that every night an RA is available for emergencies and assistance.
An RA’s job consists of the following major components: to be a community builder, an informal confidant/mentor, a programmer/activities planner, a disciplinarian/policy enforcer, and an administrator in the building.
If you have additional questions about the RA position or how to become an RA, please contact the Residence Life Coordinator at 315-797-0000 ext. 2221 or email.
